Hannah moved from unpredictable 1:1 work to a scalable programme
Name: Hannah Yurk
Business: Hannah is an Italy-based Communication Coach who helps HR professionals go from feeling hesitant in English meetings to becoming effective, impactful, and strategic HR leaders. She offers a hybrid English + communication course designed specifically for HR managers.
Problem: Before joining Designed to Flourish, Hannah had spent several years building her business, but income and client flow still felt unpredictable. When clients came in, her calendar was completely full and she had no time to plan or improve her business. When things were quieter, she found herself scrambling for new clients, worrying about money, and trying to “fix” things without the space to do it properly. She wanted to scale, create more consistency, and stop tailoring everything to individual 1:1 clients.
Result: After the programme, Hannah launched her hybrid communication programme for HR managers. She now has two groups running and runs it continuously, which has created more breathing room and a more sustainable model. She’s doing less 1:1 work, has a programme she genuinely enjoys delivering, and feels proud of the offer and the results her clients are getting.
“ I’ve scaled back on 1:1 work and now I have a programme I’m really happy with, my clients are happy with, and I’m proud of. ”
Hi, I’m Hannah Yurk. I’ve been working on my business for the last five years. I work specifically to help HR professionals go from feeling hesitant and lacking confidence in their English meetings to becoming the effective, impactful, and strategic HR leader that they want to be.
Why did you decide to join Designed to Flourish?
The reason I decided to join your group programme is because I had been working on my business for about four years. I was getting clients not, uh, regularly enough that it was enough to be a solid business on its own. And I was getting one-to-one, mainly one-to-one clients. And sometimes that my business was full and sometimes it was quiet and not very regular.
And I really felt like I was stuck in the sense of…. when I did get clients, I was working really hard and my calendar was totally full and I didn’t have space to plan or make any changes or improvements to my business. And then when it was quiet, I was frantically searching for new clients and worried about not making enough money and doing training and just not really having that space either.
So what I was really looking for was a way to scale my business a bit. At the same time, get, have more space to keep doing things and being more sure about what my offer was and not just tailoring my offer to different one-to-one clients.
How have things changed since you did the programme with me?
So since I did the Designed to Flourish program with you, Rachael, I have now launched my hybrid communication program for HR managers, and I now have two groups running and I’m running it continuously. It’s gone through a couple of different modes since I started, but I think that’s all part of practicing and learning as you go along.
So that means that I have more time at the moment to be focusing on my business because I have a little bit more space, not doing so much one-to-one. And I’ve scaled and I just have a programme that I’m really happy with, that my clients are happy with and I’m proud of.
Why did you choose me?
I think I chose you because I obviously knew some people who had taken your course and they gave you great recommendations. I also really liked the kind of holistic programme that you offer. It kind of covers all the bases that somebody needs.
And even at my point of business, I knew that I didn’t have everything working. I knew that I still needed to work on my niche, I, I needed to work on my offer and make it more clear. And I really liked that it was so in depth and kind of covered all the bases. So even though there was stuff that I already thought I knew or had tried before, actually I realized that I didn’t know it or I needed to refresh it and get more feedback already on it.
Six months was a good length of time to work on it. Um, it was deep. And at the same time, you got one-to-one support and feedback, you had like specific steps to take. And also I liked the groups because met a lot of people and was able to exchange with people on that.
Did you have any aha moments on the programme?
I think my aha moment is really that I thought I had a niche, but I didn’t really have a niche, um, that a niche is not necessarily just a group of people, but that it’s actually your service is your niche.
And I totally had that backwards and um, even though I still work with the same group of people, I’ve realized that just their job title is not enough of a niche, it’s also the outcome that you promised them. And that was helped me a lot to understand that.
What would you say to anyone considering working with me?
For anyone who’s considering working with you, Rachel, I would say. Uh, it’s just really think about it and take that step because you might, you might think that you have a good idea of what your business is, but there’s still so much that you can learn and, you know, no matter what stage of business you are, if you, even if like me, you have been working on it for a few years, um, Rachael really gives you that clarity and helps you move forward in a really step by step way.
It was a really great experience for me. I gained so much from it and I keep coming back to it and know that like I can keep coming and working on this. Again, the, the resources that I have are gonna be super helpful even moving forward.
So if you want to understand, have clarity about what kind of business model works best for you and how to bring that to fruition.
