SUCCESS HABITS FOR ELT FREELANCERS- 14TH MARCH 12PM UK TIME- RACHAEL ROBERTS

Running your own business is VERY different from being employed. You don’t have anyone else telling you what to do, planning your time, making decisions about the best direction to take… All of these are huge benefits to having your own business, but they can also be your biggest challenges.

In this session I am going to look at what I consider to be the most important Success Habits that you can develop in order to make running your own freelance business nothing but a blessing. Spoiler- it is not going to include getting up at 5am and going for a run (unless you really fancy that for some reason).

Bio

I’m Rachael, and I’m a business and mindset coach for ELT freelance professionals and business owners.

One of the things I don’t like about ELT is the way that so many excellent professionals are underpaid, undervalued and scraping by.  I also far too often see people working themselves into the ground. This is no way to run a sustainable and enjoyable professional career.

I want to really challenge the low expectations, and culture of ‘having to’ accept poor conditions and teach ELT freelancers the steps they can take to make their businesses truly work for them.

WHAT IS BRANDING AND HOW CAN IT TRANSFORM MY BUSINESS?- 15TH MARCH 2PM UK TIME- AMY MANNING- BRAND DESIGNER

Branding is a particular look and feel you give your business so that it attracts your ideal clients. It’s what people think about you when you leave the room. It’s the impression you leave. It’s what draws people in, to pay attention, to follow you, to learn more and to buy from you.

Join me for a Facebook Live to discover what branding is and how it can transform your business from being muddled to looking totally professional and helping you get clients.

Hey, I’m Amy. I’m a brand designer. I help businesses, like yours, create an identity that makes you look, well, like a real business.

It can be hard starting a business and comparing yourself to others. Seeing your competitors getting out there, winning work, looking great and living the dream.

So I step in and help you realise that your business is brilliant and you can take it where ever you want.

I specialise in brand creation with strategic thinking and ongoing graphic design support; creating brands that not only look the real deal, but that are strategically designed. Helping you attract your ideal clients, so you can get out there and grow your business.

WORK LESS, EARN MORE AND LIVE MORE FULLY- 15TH MARCH 10.30AM UK TIME- RACHAEL ROBERTS

Can you really work less and still be more productive? Absolutely.

Of course, part of working less involves earning more, which is a big focus of my work with clients. It’s vital to consider your business model, your marketing, and of course, your pricing.
But it’s also about learning how to manage your time, and just as crucially, your energy, in a more effective and efficient way.

In this session, I’ll show you how productivity really can help you to work less, earn more, and live more fully. There are lots of little tips and strategies that can help you to revolutionise your working day, and project manage your business like the boss you actually are.

WHY I LINK IN AND YOU SHOULD TOO- 16TH MARCH 1PM UK TIME- JENNIFER MURRAY

Are you lurking on LinkedIn? Maybe you have a profile, follow some people and occasionally like a post, but that’s it. Until very recently, that was me too. That is until I realised what LinkedIn has to offer us freelancers. In the session, I’ll explain why I have gone from lurker to linker, tell you how to get started and give some tips for creating a killer headline.

Bio

After 30 years in the business, I can claim to speak fluent ELT. I’ve been lucky enough to work in many different roles, from teacher to editorial manager, and many more. As a result, I know what students need, what teachers want and what publishers prefer.

In February 2019, I left my in-house post and went freelance. Since then I’ve been working to build my own business and offer new services. I’ve always loved words and compelling content, so moving into copywriting seems a great fit for me. I now help ELT freelancers and business owners tell their stories online and in print.

WHY YOUR MONEY MINDSET MATTERS- 9.30AM UK TIME- RACHAEL ROBERTS

Most educators are not in it for the money. But, that doesn’t mean that we’ve all taken a vow of poverty.

Doing something just for the money can be soul destroying. But, just because money isn’t your primary motivation, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be paid what you’re worth.

And yet, we tell ourselves any number of things to avoid this. ‘No-one in ELT is willing to pay.’ ‘There’s too much competition so I have to price low.’ ‘ I don’t know if my clients can afford this.’

Sound familiar? Come and find out why getting our heads straight about money can make all the difference. Because if you aren’t getting paid enough, you’re eventually going to give up or burn out. And that serves no-one.
